Canine Rehabilitation Explained
Canine rehabilitation, much like in humans, involves the use of physical therapy to restore function and fitness following surgery, trauma, illness, or debilitation. It is beneficial for any animal experiencing reduced mobility or pain, regardless of the underlying cause.
It is crucial to first identify the root causes impacting your dogs mobility. Essential knowledge includes comprehensive understanding of:
-
canine anatomy
-
normal gait patterns
-
orthopedic injuries
-
surgical techniques
-
tissue healing processes
-
stages of inflammation
-
effects of therapeutic modalities
With my expertise as a veterinarian, I review your dogs medical history and conduct a thorough examination & gait assessment. From there, a tailored treatment plan will be developed and you will receive a personalised program of therapeutic exercises to continue at home.

The Process
Booking In
Prior to your first appointment, I will need to collect your dog's history to ensure I have a complete understanding of their background. This information is valuable and I can address any specific concerns you may have.
Veterinary referral is not mandatory (but is preferred) and partnering with your primary care vet ensures more complete care of your dog.
